2@Qualification requirements

The AET candidate should fill the following items:

 

(1)      A foreigner living in Okinawa.

(2)      English must be your native language or second language.

(3)      Be a university graduate or judge to have sufficient knowledge and the experience as

 an English teacher.

(4)      Possess the ability to guide students and assist teachers.

(5)      Ability to follow the Japanese teacher's instruction.

(6)      Be interested in school events extracurricular activities during the calendar year.

(7)   Be able to communicate in Japanese.

            (8)  Show interest in Japanese and Okinawan culture and customs.

(9)  Possess the current working visa.

(10) Do not have or pending disciplinary or other legal problems in Japan.

(11) Show good knowledge of English guidance, experience, and work performance.

 

3@Appointment period

E         Friday, April 6, 2007 (Orientation)

E         Thursday, April 12, 2007- Friday, July 17

E         Monday, September 3, 2007 Friday, October 5

E         Thursday, October 11, 2007 Friday, December 21:

    ¥  Tuesday, January 10, 2008- Friday, March 7

 

                            Work days on 180 days

(2006 fiscal year: Work days: 180 days)

4@Working hours

Monday Friday (weekends depending on school events)

8:15AM - 3:15PM (rest time: 45 minutes, break time: 15-minute.)

(Schoolfs daily routine may differ.)

 

5@Salary

Daily wages 13,300 yen

@

6@Annual leave with pay

10 days leave (First year)

    5 days for illness

7@Health insurance, welfare annuity, and unemployment insurance joining(deduction from salary every month)

Candidates are judged by examination of submitted documents and an oral interview.

Tuesday, February 13, 2007, Wednesday, February 14, Thursday, February 15,

Friday, February 16 and Monday, February 19

(Interviews are conducted in Japanese by the officers. But there will be an interpreter who can speak English. ; 15 minutes per interviewee.)

The selection result is notified on the Naha City Board of Education homepage on Friday, March 2, 2007.
